Birthday Party Ideas For Christmas Kids

Children born during December often have mixed feelings about having their birthday so close to a major holiday. Some like that their friends are also on vacation (and can go to their party for sure) while other may feel like their birthday is not so important compared to Christmas. Here are a few tips to make your child’s birthday party memorable amidst all the holiday rush.

Select an unusual theme

Since the Christmas preparations are in full swing during December, your child may not want to have a theme that is Christmas related. Make your child’s party stand out by picking a theme that is far from winter and something related to what your child really likes. Sports, carnival and luau are just some fun ideas that are unconventional.

Select An Unexpected Time

If your Christmas child is really unhappy about sharing their birthday with a major holiday, suggest having the party before or after Christmas. Plan an a fall party or make a tradition to have their party in the summer so you can have outdoor activities.  Having a party in November or January can give them enough space from Christmas to feel like their birthday is the real focus of the day.  A New Year's Eve party or sleepover is another option.  You could also make it a surprise each year and not tell your child when it will be.  Have the party in September one year and then January in another year but be sure to tell them that they can only have one party during the calendar year.  You can have a cake and ice cream on the actual day of their birthday when family and friends are at the family gathering.

Go out of the box with activities

The best way to capture the attention and interest of children is to prepare activities that will keep them busy for hours. Since children have a lot of excitement and energy at birthday parties, moonwalk rentals Charlotte NC and other amenities related to your theme will do. Here are some examples:
  • Carnival games  and cotton candy machine for a carnival themed party
  • Sports bounce house or Princess bounce house
  • Big Kahuna Slide Inflatable and snow cone machine for a luau party
  • Popcorn machine for a movie themed party
Invite your child’s friends and their guardians to go to a different location for a mini-tour or trip before having birthday food. You can go to the museum, go skating, have a picnic, grill party or even a mini Amazing Race party outdoors.o
